For anyone who has followed the shop since we opened a little over a year ago, it's probably pretty obvious that I'm wild about package design and "the little details". Our original "Market Tote" was conceived when we opened as a simple thank you to our new customers for their support of our fledgling small business. This transaction became really special to us and grew to be more than a small measure of appreciation and more about setting a standard for ourselves as a neighborhood business. Sure, a cloth tote is a symbol of sustainability- I like to see them on the street filled with library books or your recent haul from the co-op. But I like to think that our customers don't ever leave the shop as a stranger. We've made countless new friends since we opened the doors at Mid-Atlantic. And that's been my favorite part. When a new face opens the door just to check out what we're conjuring up in here- and then some awkwardness is broken- and we're laughing and we both over-share some anecdotal story about middle school or pictures of our cats. That's the really good part- that's what it's all about. Mid-Atlantic has become a convivial community-focused space for us,  so now these little totes are a symbol of that- a little token that stands for our customers and the goods carefully wrapped inside-All of it a reflection of our ethos in quality.
